Hello Fellow Bloggers,

This is the post when I tell you what Library RSS feeds I subscribed to with Google Reader. I subscribed to four Library feeds. The first three are Library Journal feeds. This includes LJ audio reviews, LR Library 2.0 (I think I've heard about this 2.0 thing) and Library Journal news. But the fourth is my favorite. It is Awful Library Books. Just so much fun looking at dated books. Just an example is the picture of a "super computer": http://awfullibrarybooks.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/super-computer-2.jpg

Super computer indeed. Love the IBM 9X01. Nice rotary phone dial (must be dial up Internet).

Not much else to say so I will end the post here. Later!

DUDE HAIR

After exploring a couple of web sites from the list, I ended trying iStats under the sports heading and Hairmixer under the Fun category. The iStats didn't really work for me because it was more for keeping track of strength workouts and not so much for cardio exercise. So then I tried something fun... this led to Hairmixer. Since I have had only two hair styles in the past 25 years, short and shorter, I thought I might try something different. So this is what I came up with (I know the images may be a bit disturbing).

The first picture is me with Paris Hilton hair.
We can conclude that this blond will not have more fun.
The next picture is of me with Matthew McConaughey hair. Kinda look like The Dude. Well, this is what happens when you let a man with short hair dream of having long beautiful hair. Happy Holidays everybody.

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays!

Here is a test of my ability to post a document from Google Docs to my blog.

A quote from Bart Simpson:

"Aren't we forgetting the true meaning of Christmas?
You know... the birth of Santa."

Happy Thanksgiving!

I really do not have much to talk about. So, once again, I will use quotes to fill my blog. Don't worry, no actual Big Birds were harmed in the writing of this blog.

Dylan Brody
You know that just before that first Thanksgiving dinner there was one wise, old Native American woman saying, 'Don't feed them. If you feed them, they'll never leave. '

Erma Bombeck
Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed in twelve minutes. Half-times take twelve minutes. This is not coincidence.

Rita Rudner
My mother is such a lousy cook that Thanksgiving at her house is a time of sorrow.

Ellen Orleans
I have strong doubts that the first Thanksgiving even remotely resembled the 'history' I was told in second grade. But considering that (when it comes to holidays) mainstream America's traditions tend to be over-eating, shopping, or getting drunk, I suppose it's a miracle that the concept of giving thanks even surfaces at all.

Johnny Carson
Thanksgiving is an emotional holiday. People travel thousands of miles to be with people they only see once a year. And then discover once a year is way too often.

Irv Kupcine
An optimist is a person who starts a new diet on Thanksgiving Day.

Arnold Schwarzenegger
I love Thanksgiving turkey... it's the only time in Los Angeles that you see natural breasts.

Kevin James
Thanksgiving, man! Not a good day to be my pants.

Mike Connolly
Coexistence: what the farmer does with the turkey - until Thanksgiving.

P. J. O'Rourke
Thanksgiving is so called because we are all so thankful that it only comes once a year.

David Letterman
Thanksgiving is the day when you turn to another family member and say,' How long has Mom been drinking like this?' My Mom, after six Bloody Marys looks at the turkey and goes,' Here, kitty, kitty."

Author Unknown
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!!

Homerisms

Hello again from Duffworld. Not much going on this week. I would try to write something witty or insightful but I don't have it in me this week. So I will just plagiarize some random Homer quotes. (In case you can't tell, I like The Simpsons.)

Oh, so they have Internet on computers now!

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Son, if you really want something in this life, you have to work for it. Now quiet! They're about to announce the lottery numbers.

The answer to life's problems aren't at the bottom of a bottle, they're on TV!

Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.

I want to share something with you: The three little sentences that will get you through life. Number 1: Cover for me.

Number 2: Oh, good idea, Boss!

Number 3: It was like that when I got here.

How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home wine making course, and I forgot how to drive?

If something's hard to do, then it's not worth doing.

All my life I've had one dream, to achieve my many goals.

Habits

Well, the weakest habit for me is seeing problems as a challenge. I see problems as problems...that's it! It is something that must be dealt with but I am very relieved when the problem is solved (or ignored). Relief is all I feel, nothing else. As for the strongest habit, I guess it would have to be...play. This is the one thing I have mastered in my life. Playing takes on many different forms for me...riding my bike, walking the dog or playing the Wii with the family. So I guess my strongest habit is really only worth 1/2 of a habit. I'm cool with that. As a wise man said once..."all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" or was it "no tv no beer make Homer something something"? I can't remember.
